The whole process too two and three quarter hours and the experience was excellent. I never had any pain or anxiety and Dr. Buchanan was slow and thorough during the whole process. Hendersonville family dental is hands down the best dentist experience I have ever had. The staff are friendly, accommodating, and great at their jobs. They never judged me for not taking care of my teeth. Plus, there are some super nice comfort items available for your appointment, including comfy neck pillows and eye masks. Jennifer, from upfront called, non judgemental and professional with courtesy. Lacey (remember Ted Knight's niece in Caddy Shack?) Was able to work me in that afternoon. Thank you ma'am. A tech whose name I didn't get set me up and did Xrays. Great, as usual, job from Lacey. Due to scheduling Shelby finished me off with Dr Mike Rouchel checking me out for cavities. Marvelous team work. Efficient, pleasant, thorough with good humor throughout. See you next time. Mike, Saluda, NC 01/22/26 Not my best visit but that's on me for slacking off. Hygienist, I think Lacie, did a fabulous, pain free job cleaning, particularly gums and gum adjacent areas. I told her of some sensitive areas and I didn't know she was even there until finished. Very nice hygienist and very nice person. To quote Arnold, "I'll be back". And, btw, it wasn't a "toomah". Mike Stritch, Saluda 05/12/25 This visit required a crown replacing a 25 year old filling. Dr Roosell and assistant Avery. She was very attentive, anticipated well. Very patient with recalcitrant computer monitor. Procedure was pain free and I love the inhouse crown printing. No requirement for a temporary crown and a second visit. The modeling was virtually perfect with very minor, if any, post cementing adjustments. Looking forward to my next dark chocolate sea salt caramel(s). Decent pricing on the Crown as well. 05/07/25 New Doctor, Michael Russel, renewed relationship with former hygienist Lacy. Great combination. Also like recently married Sarah, hygiene scheduler and Amanda, dentist scheduler. Great team. 01/20/2025 Another positive 8 star review. New hygienist, never got or I forgot her name. Very nice hands. Great cleaning job. Now for the real stuff. Doctors and techs come and go but the support staff, the admins make or break a practice. The front office is very good, consistent and flexible. I showed up on the wrong day, early and the were able to fit me in with zero attitude so I didn't waste a trip. I have cr**** insurance. Sarah has been superb at finding me payment plans for my self caused perio problems. She makes checkout a pleasure and is also great with rescheduling my erratic schedule. So: Today recognition goes to the support staff. But, final thought, maybe they're great because they don't have to smell our bad breath and hear our screams of pain. 4/22/2024 Interesting. The technology gets better, smaller, less intrusive and seems to be more specific in function yet more generally applicable. Same smooth hands, thank you Marcela. Only pain was due to my poor flossing in a couple of places. Nothing fatal. Checking it with pro Sara, always a pleasure. Mike S I have some self caused perio issues. Today, 6/26/23 was a cleaning. Great intake and payment departments. New hygienist to their practice and to me, Marcella. Excellent hands, strong but not rough. Good communication skills. I knew exactly what I needed to know when I left. Previously I got a crown via their "do it right now" 2 hr service. Great fit zero issues. Best practice I've been to in 67 years. Edit on 2/22/23. Next visit. Hygienist was Lacie, named after Chevy Chase's girlfriend in Caddyshack. Great attitude, good hands and she really paid attention to my issues. Just keeps getting better. Edit 12/6/23 New hygienist to me, Erin. Superb hands. Firm and gentle. Kudos to the front office and back office staff, particularly Sarah. Randy Carter10 September 2026I recently switched to this dental office after 12 years at another location. It is more convenient to my location. I also require special needs for my dental work. I am currently 73 year old and when I was 15 I was diagnosed with cancer. At that time radiation therapy was utilized to eradicate it. The cancer was located in my throat and over the years due to the treatment I have had many issues with dental work. Scare tissues preventing me from opening my mouth has been very difficult for any dentist. When I went to this practice I did not realize how modern their procedures and equipment were. I am seeing Dr. Buchanan and he specializes with patients like me. In the short time I have been going to this practice I have had more work done to improve my teeth in ~2 months. Compared to the other office I was going to this amount of work would equal about 1.5 years. This office I am currently going to is so much more advanced. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a dental office to check these folks out. I believe there are two other locations. The staff are all very professional, compassionate and understand your individual needs. Dr. Buchanan is young, energetic, extremely professional and take care of his patients.Posted on Google

In and out in an hour - very good for an initial visit. I've recommended to my friends. Apparently this didn't post when I wrote it last year. This year has had me in for another cleaning (Melissa, you're still great) and a crown by Dr. Juarez. Very good work. Another 2 crowns coming in April. I guess you might say I'm happy . . . OK, apparently this didn’t post after several more visits … Still having Melissa do my cleaning, Dr Ashton was on vacation so Dr Buchanan looked me over .. All still good. This practice is tops!! Maybe the third time is a charm on this post … Melissa is still my go-to for cleaning and she’s still doing a great job. Hmmmm. Maybe the fourth time is a charm … Still happy with HFD and Melissa still trying to make me floss more … I guess I’ll stick with them .. They really are the best by far. I live in Fairview and am about to move to Marion and still make the drive just to go to them. Caring,knowledgeable,timely they are on point. Laura Sutherlin19 May 2026Okay, full disclosure—I was TERRIFIED going into my appointment with Dr. Buchanan and I was pretty sure I’d need a support animal and stress ball for each hand! My brain went into overdrive when my name was called—Imagine a cartoonish medieval scene from a 1970s episode of Saturday Night Live or the Carol Burnet Show… You’re strapped down in a wooden chair surrounded by a table with various instruments of torture—for the obligatory blood-letting I presume. A giant, towering figure of a dentist—complete with a long, flowing robe, an evil Snidely Whiplash mustache, and a large, shiny set of pliers is standing by your side. He winks at you like he’s in on the joke. The dentist dramatically holds up his “mighty tool”—which looks more like an ancient, oversized pair of tongs than anything you’d trust near your mouth—and gives a theatrical “Prepare thine tooth for extraction!” I start inhaling Nitrous as fast as possible and suddenly come to my senses! Seriously—if you’re looking for a dentist you can TRUST with all those scary instruments, who carefully explains every step, listens to your concerns, and gives you a heads-up before anything happens, Dr. Buchanan and Hendersonville Family Dental is your place. All of my little coffee stains are gone and my teeth feel very smooth and clean. Bryson updated my x-rays and it was such a breeze. Dr. Norian reviewed my radiographs and is always kind. They were extremely understanding and comforting. I broke my two teeth in half at the root, we found out, after X-rays.
