Dr. Stohl realized years ago that veterans have a very difficult time getting access to affordable dental care, so he came up with an idea to give back to our veteran community and it has been a growing success.
For the past 9 years, we have provided free dental care for veterans on Veterans Day and our staff looks forward to this day each year. Both Hendersonville Family Dental and Mills River Family Dental close our doors to regular patients on Veterans Day each year and open to veterans only. Our team volunteers their time and skills to offer free dental care for veterans to show their appreciation to these incredible people. We provide lots of food, laughs, company, and of course dental work. We look for each year to be bigger and better than the previous.
“On Veterans Day, HFD closed its doors to the public and welcomed veterans to come and get free dental care. I was blown away to find almost every staff person came to work to serve so many needy veterans, for some of the vets this is the only time they will see a dentist or hygienist all year. The staff was so upbeat, some said it was their happiest day of the year. I have been a patient at HFD for many years now but I have to say as a veteran I am so proud of the staff for the compassion they have for our veteran community.”
